Graphic novels are a great way to coax reluctant readers to engage with your ELA course material. When paired with your required reading, graphic novels can help students to better understand the story by presenting it in a visual style that they already like and in a way that can feel less intimidating.

Stock your classroom shelves for independent reading, follow up a chapter by projecting pages for in-class review, or use graphic novels as a launching point for an activity where students create their own visuals.

Help open the door to deeper understanding, comprehension, and engagement with illustrated classics.
